Macro shot of an apple blossum blooming. The trees really opened up today. Great smell. Makes me sad that I'm working in doors today.
On a side note, I'm going to be trying to implement a Spam filter so that I can get commenting online here. That'll hopefully be in the next few days. Stay tuned.

Same guy, same time every day...corner of McCormick and Devon. NPR has had an enlightening series of stories on Skid Row in CA about homelessness, including eye-opening statistics about mental illness in relation to the issue. I encourage everybody to check it out: "For Some, L.A.'s Skid Row Is For Beginnings" among other stories that ran last week

So potholes are finally being fixed. About time too. Yesterday I drove into a one foot deep, two by two foot wide hole on the way home and about gave myself a concusion.

Figuring out the sweet spot for this 50mm f/1.8 lens. I like it. It gets a great depth of field as long as you frame your shot right. Oh, and Sophie does not have a black eye...that's ink that she somehow rubbed on her face during the stamping process. Evie did the same thing, just on her forehead.
canon 50mm 1.8 lens test

New lens. F/1.8 is pretty quick and, as I'm finding out, a little tricky to use when in bright sun. Because of the speed, you really have to compensate with shutter speed during bright daylight. It has no zoom either. But in the right conditions, as with any lens, promises to yield some very nice depth of field. Product is at Amazon for those interested.

I left work with a client at midnight last night. Back in bright and early. Still commuting an hour each way. Ugh.
